My lungs were full of lunar sand,
as the dust from your mahogany coffin
landed on my weary eyelids and leaden fingertips.
You were wasting away in solitude and self-destruction,
but you called it an ending to your novel
and tied a marvelous, golden onyx rope around your neck.
